Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 -1913) was a famous naturalist who was significant in nature conservation and his work in Singapore. Senior Lecturer John van Whye and his team of experts developed the Wallace Online archive to showcase the first complete edition of the writings of naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 – 1913).
There are four main sections to the website: “Publications” lists all of Wallace’s books, book chapters and articles; “Manuscripts” are a selection of documents written by Wallace; “Specimens” is a new and comprehensive collection of the scientific descriptions of Wallace’s specimens; “Supplementary” are works by other authors that were important for Wallace’s work.
