Siva, also known as the Otterman, was recently featured in the Alumnus magazine where he discussed his passion for cycling, the environment, teaching, and his thoughts about RMBR and the new Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum!
He is certainly no stranger to RMBR, having been a member of staff for 10 years before venturing into teaching at the department in 2007. Siva was instrumental in kicking off RMBR news, the archive documenting going-ons in the museum in its previous two incarnations, from 2000 to 2004 and from 2004 to 2007.
While at RMBR, he also started the Toddycats!, the volunteer arm of the museum, offering public outreach programs such as Pedal Ubin!, the Pasir Panjang/Kent Ridge heritage walk, and the International Coastal Cleanup and of course participating in outreach activities such as the recently concluded Festival of Biodiversity organised by Nparks.
