RMBR launches 2 new books


RMBR launches two new books on nature Singapore – Private Lives: An Exposé of Singapore’s Freshwaters, and A Photographic Guide to the Dragonflies of Singapore on 2 August 2010.


The book launch was graced by Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim (second from right), Minister for the Environment and Water Resources.


Mr Derk Hartgerink, Manufacturing Director of the Singapore Chemical Plant of ExxonMobil, addressing the audience.


Dr. Yaacob (second from right) listening attentively to Mr Hartgerink’s speech. Accompanying him were (from right): Prof Peter Ng, Director of RMBR; Prof Leo Tan, Director of Special Projects, NUS; and Prof Barry Halliwell, Deputy President (Research and Technology), NUS.


Prof Peter Ng gave a very animated and informative introduction to the two books.


The launch had a great turn out.


Dr. Yaacob and Mr Hartgerink were invited to launch the two books by taking them out of the fish tank.


Finally, the books were launched!


Dr. Yaacob had a chat with the contributors and editors of the book after the launch.


The books were selling like hot cakes after the launch.
