Mr. Daisuke Bucchi Koyabu is a Ph. D candidate from the Department of Evolutionary Biology, The University Museum, The University of Tokyo. He will be in the RMBR from 22 Sep to 16 Oct 2008.
Mr. Koyabu is looking through the Zoological Reference Collection of leaf monkey skulls, which he is focusing at this stage. He is studying the functional morphology of primate skulls. It is known that primate skulls have diverse morphology and it is often used in phylogenetic analysis. However, the reason why it exists is not established. Therefore his study is looking into the morphology of primate skulls, including humans, and any co-relations which can explain the existence of diversity among them.
