Melissa is based at the Center for Conservation & Evolutionary Genetics at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C.; and her research interests are primarily molecular phylogenetics, biogeography, conservation genetics, and evolutionary genomics. Her advisor, Jennifer is from Estacion Biologica de Donana in Seville, Spain; and he research interests lie in the effect of changes in the environment on the genetic discovery of natural populations, with emphasis on the temporal perspective using ancient DNA.
Hope they had a fruitful time here with the squirrels!
